Who doesn’t want to fail? People do it so often we must love something about it! Unfortunately, failing is not as easy as it sounds. It takes dedication and consistency. We’re serious. It requires a certain mindset and willingness to do a few things in a meticulous manner. With this handy guide, you can definitely:
Work only when you’re in the mood. What’s the point of working when you ‘don’t feel like it?’ You might as well wait till you’re in the right frame of mind! If you don’t feel like working, take a break. If you don’t feel like exercising…well, don’t. Just wait till that ‘motivation’ comes back.
2. Play to not lose
You know the best way to not lose? It’s to not play. Most ambitious folks play to win. Why excel when you can just pass? Why aim high if you have a chance of missing your target?
3. Think of all your failures
The past equals the future, right? If you failed yesterday, why won’t you fail tomorrow? Let it play in your head. If you truly believe that your failures in the past are an indicator of how your future will be, you’ll make it happen.
4. Keep vague goals
When would you like to start working on your passion project? I hope your answer is ‘someday’ or ‘maybe in a few years’. Even ‘probably in the next few months’ will do. God forbid, you set an actual date – why fail in public at a later date when you can fail privately right now?
5. Live in the moment
Successful people do this too. They know how to enjoy life, love what they do and live life to the fullest. However, people who fail live only in the moment. Smell those roses! Have a blast! After all, you’ll figure it all out ‘someday’ and it will all ‘work out’.
6. Don’t get help
If you feel down, don’t talk to anyone! What if they get you out of that spell? In fact, try to figure it out all by yourself. After all, no one can understand what you’re going through.
Here’s a bonus one from JK Rowling – “It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default.”
That’s your quick guide to failure. Use it wisely. Here’s the most important thing to understand – Failure is rarely an accident.
